Online training - Municipal competencies in international protection of #HumanRights according to current regulations
Free Online Training Cycle on 23 and 30 November and 14 December from 12 to 14h. This training is an initiative of RESD in alliance with CIDEU. The course's teaching team belongs to the Department of Public Law of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. We will also have the participation of experts in human rights from the field who will provide practical case studies.
Do local governments have the power to carry out political advocacy actions in the face of serious human rights violations in other territories? The answer is clearly yes. With this training, you will be able to complement your knowledge by reviewing the regulations that legitimise the international protection of human rights from local authorities at different levels: global, European, Spanish and Catalan.
From Reds, the inalienable right of each person to defend Human Rights is linked to the obligation of all institutions and organisations to promote and fight peacefully for the protection and realisation of Human Rights and fundamental freedoms at national and international levels.
For this reason, the training is aimed at political representatives, technical staff and members of municipal councils for international cooperation of local governments, civil society organisations and human rights defenders to strengthen Catalan municipal competencies in the international protection of human rights.
