Sustainability and Environmental Law

IMAGEN DEL LOGOTIPO DEL GRUPO

Sustainability and Environmental law is one of the expertise areas of the TCS Research Group.

In this area, the group operates fundamentally through the CEDAT. Among the many projects carried out (see here research projects), since January 2017 the Group has been working on the latest project of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness's National Research Plan, 'Global Climate Constitution: Governance and Law in a Complex Context' (CONCLIMA). Linked to this project, a significant line of research is developed, focused in environmental/climate justice and global climate governance, with the production and dissemination of research in this area as well as the designing of training programmes, as the Tarragona Courses on Environmental Justice, with the collaboration of global leading experts. We believe that the results of research encourage training activities. In this sense, there is also a project running on designing a new offer of intensive courses for young international researchers, focusing on protection for environmental defenders, funded by the Catalan International Institute for Peace. In the domain of training, the most important programme of the group is the Master's Degree on Environmental Law, as well as the corresponding lines of research in the framework of the PhD programme in law.
