Webtalk with RESAMA - "Climate Justice and Human (Im)Mobility in Light of the Inter-American Court's Advisory Opinion 32-2025"

In this webtalk, which will take place on November 7 at 16:30 CET, we will explore the emerging intersections between climate justice, human mobility, and human rights within the framework of the Inter-American human rights system.

Building on the recent Advisory Opinion 32-2025 of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, we will examine how this historic interpretation contributes to the recognition of the rights of people and communities displaced or affected by climate-related events, as well as the broader development of climate justice in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This virtual talk will feature Giovana Ginni and Marilia Gagliardi, members of the South American Network for Environmental Migrations (RESAMA), who will discuss the implications of the Advisory Opinion for state obligations, access to justice, and the protection of vulnerable groups such as Indigenous peoples, women, and migrants. Beatriz Felipe Pérez, member of CICrA Justicia Ambiental and an associate researcher at CEDAT-URV, will moderate the discussion. Don't miss this unique opportunity to connect with leading voices in climate justice from a human rights perspective!

The event will be held in English, is free of charge, but prior registration is required. Register here: https://form.jotform.com/252802507936359

This virtual talk is part of the ERASMUS+ Climate Justice Living Lab project, funded by the European Union.
