International Seminar ‘Climate Litigation and Environmental Justice’

We are pleased to present and invite you to attend the International Seminar 'Climate Litigation and Environmental Justice', jointly organised by the Network of Environmental Lawyers (RADA) and the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the Rovira i Virgili University (URV), which will take place in the Campus Catalunya, Tarragona, from 5th to 7th June 2025.

The seminars aim to analyze the impact of the rulings in some relevant cases of climate litigation in the European Union, both in the legal, media, social and political spheres. More specifically, in the first place, the focus is on analyzing the legal basis of the judgments. Secondly, the seminars also aim to analyze the question of the implementation and effectiveness of judicial decisions, as well as their effectiveness in achieving legislative reforms and the role played by media and social pressure on the ability of judicial decisions to fulfil this normative function. Finally, in the light of the above, the aim is to analyze what objectives have driven litigation and whether these have been achieved, to draw conclusions about the strategy to be followed in the future.

This conference is part of the ERASMUS+ Climate Justice Living Lab project, funded by the European Union through the INDIRE Agency.
